Program 2014

2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the beginning of what is now called the First World War (connected with a "prologue" called The Balkan Wars in 1912 , 1913 and 1914) , which then led to the result in the Second World War followed by the Cold War (connected with an "epilogue" called The Balkan Wars in the nineties of the 20th century. The potential for these conflicts is not deactivated until today). The war in July 1914 started as a localized conflict on the Balkans tolerated in accordance by the European Powers. But the ruling houses of Hohenzollern and Hapsburg followed other interests, together they started to create an European War. The decided to invade Belgium. The Hapsburg-Administration at the Ballhausplatz In Vienna did that without any declaration of war, there was no interest in Vienna keep the conflict localized on the Balkans in an occupation of Belgrade and the neighbouring Serbian territory to preserve peace for Europe. And the so called Cisleithanian part of the multiple monarchy of Hapsburg was in state of emergency. So for ruling emperor and king in Vienna it was quite simple to order a war! That fact should be an everlasting warning for the mankind preserving peace!

2014 marks also the 75th anniversary of the start of the World War Two, 2014 marks the 70th anniversary of the death and murder of the composer Viktor Ullmann, 2014 marks also the 25th anniversary of the fall of The Berlin Wall and The Iron Curtain in Europe too. The Iron Curtain was removed from the center of Europe now to the border of The European Union. By that reason ARBOS - Company for Music and Theatre starts in August 2014 in cooperation with the communuity of Arnoldstein and his mayor and and consultant for arts and culture Erich Kessler and the association of the "Klosterruine Arnoldstein" (headed by Bernhard Wolfsgruber) the international project "War=daDa". The community of Arnoldstein and the association "Klosterruine Arnoldstein" are playing the main Carinthian part of the project.
